Discurso, língua, ensino, memória: representações e poder

Abstract

The book Discourse, Language, Teaching, Memory: Representations and Power presents texts by members of the Language and Representation Research Group, certified by the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology/IFBA, since 2007. Its components work through the research lines Language and Interaction; Language and Gender Relations; Language, Literature and Africanity and Language, Representation and Power aiming to contribute to discussions/reflections about the languages, in particular the Portuguese language, as a cultural and identity representation and as an instrument for people to interact with each other and with the environment society in which they live. The reflections of its researchers should also contribute to cultural and identity studies on Bahia, considering the importance of the state in the Brazilian cultural scene. Within the scope of studies of language, also shows, through the studies carried out by the members of the group, the relationships between people, the discourses, the power and the ideologies that sustain the social interactions.
